Wood-Fire Artist Residency
Wood-Fire Artists-In-Resident:
This is a 1 year position starting in September, with option to to renew up to 3 years. Interested applicants should have a developed body of work; have previous experience firing wood kilns; possess a strong work ethic, and have a desire to work within a community setting.
The Cobb Mountain Art & Ecology Project wood-fire program consist of Winter & Spring Anagama firings and several train firings per year. The wood-fire resident plays an important role in maintaining and developing this program. Opportunities include firing/assisting guest artists including Hideo Mabuchi who fires the Train Kiln 3 times a year. Expected tasks include participating in wood firings, working with Scott Parady to manage wood prep and kiln maintenance. Time spent maintaining the wood-fire program will account for some but not all of the wood-fire resident’s work/trade hours contributed to helping to run a successful community studio.

A detailed letter of intent, outlining your reasons for applying to CMAEP and what you hope to accomplish during your time here.
We do allow pets, if you are wanting to bring an animal please let us know in your email. Pets require an addition fee of $25.00 per month.
