The Reciprocity Project
The Reciprocity Project is an exciting new addition to our Residency and Gallery programming. It consists of a pair of online exhibitions that bookend each Resident’s time here at Cobb.
The first exhibition takes place in our online gallery the week leading up to our in-person Fall Open House. This is a great time for us to introduce the new residents and their work to our digital audience. This is also a fundraising event. The new residents donate 5 mugs/cups or other small objects to this online sale. All proceeds from the online cup exhibition are directly invested in the Cobb Residency Program. It is a great opportunity for our new artists and our supporters to invest in the longevity and growth of the program.
The second online exhibition is an end-of-residency capstone. The online gallery will feature selected works from each resident during the last month of their term. This is their chance to show off what they have achieved during their time here. Traditionally, sales of work while residents are here are subject to a commission percentage for Cobb. The Reciprocity Project is an exception. Sales from the end-of-term exhibition will not be subject to the regular commission. This is our way of investing back into our wonderful artists as they leave for new adventures.
