Student Atmospheric Pursuits Scholarship

The Student Atmospheric Pursuits Scholarship program is targeted towards students and those in an apprenticeship / assistantship program looking to expand their knowledge of atmospheric firing methods and engage with a wide range of ceramic artists and other firing participants. Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project is firmly committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity. This will remain one of our most critical goals, ensuring support for all students, with no bias in regard to age, disability, gender identification, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, economic status, or veteran status. This scholarship will cover the complete cost of the workshop!

What you get:

  • Ability to fire your work (see workshop description for specific cubic footage)

  • Free Camping

  • Access to our glazes

  • Learn by doing: participants will be able to join in all aspects of the firing process including loading, firing, and clean-up.

  • Instruction overview of the firing process, how-to fire, and how to clean-up and care for works post-firing.

Please note, this scholarship will not provide a stipend for travel, food or lodging expenses. It does cover camping costs and will include access to a bathroom with a shower and may include limited kitchen or fridge access through the duration of the workshop.

Scholarships are very competitive, and there is no guarantee of acceptance. If you wish to take a specific workshop, and your attendance is not dependent upon receiving a scholarship, we encourage you to register for the workshop rather than submitting a scholarship application. Some workshops fill up fast, and this is the best way to guarantee your attendance.

Upon acceptance, you will be required to sign a contract and submit a refundable $100 deposit via venmo, securing your spot within the workshop. No additional payment will be required after this.

Our scholarships are graciously funded by our patrons, monetary contributions and Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project. If you would like to sponsor a student, please follow the link below!
